Jack Aschkenazi
BSC, MBA, PH.D.
An update as of June 2011
I am a former Israeli expatriate manager with sixteen years of foreign assignments behind me.
When I first accepted to move to Copenhagen, I had no idea what that would mean.
I then learned that it meant meeting with an extremely sophisticated and proud old civilization.
My family and I fell in love with the country of Hans Christian Andersen.
After the first four years assignment, we returned for three more years, and then spent a year in the land of Van Gogh (Holland).
My last assignment was in the USA, where we have been for more than seventeen years.
My wife says that we should have started our lives here.
We have been in Europe and in the States, in the old and the new continent.
Our eyes, our ears, our brains, have absorbed several cultures. What has come out of it?
- Our daughters have acquired a very good knowledge of English and Danish.
- Our youngest daughter, Keren, got married in Israel to a very nice guy named Eran. They both work in Vancouver, Canada. They have two beautiful sons, Edan and Amit. Keren holds a Masters degree from Tel-Aviv University.
- Our oldest daughter, Sarit Aschkenazi, MD, is an Israeli and American certified OB GYN. After a fellowship in Urogynecology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, she is now a co-director of the ProHealth Care Women’s Centers in Waukesha and Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Her husband was the CFO of a high tech company listed on NASDAQ. He tragically passed away on May 2005. They have two beautiful daughters called Daniela Leigh and Amalia Romi, aged 9 and 7 and a half respectively. My wife Adrielle and I try to help as much as we can.
- I speak several foreign languages: French, Hebrew, Spanish, Italian, and Arabic.
